Mark Davy set up Futurecity in 2001 to respond to the burgeoning interest in culture and regeneration. Under his stewardship the agency now has around 30 clients in the property industry and around 100 live projects, from cultural planning supporting the regeneration of towns and cities; cultural programmes designed to provide real identity for brownfield sites and ambitious public art and creative industry programmes.
Mark has recently developed a seminar programme for the RIBA to introduce the emerging 'Cultural Masterplanning' skill-set to the architectural profession. It covers the potential of culture to brand buildings and developments, the role of public art, and art and cultural outputs for section 106 applications.
The Futurecity mix of good ideas and deliverable, affordable solutions has led to a series of appointments including, the Ebbsfleet Valley masterplan team for Land Securities, The Ebbsfleet Landmark Project for a consortium of Land Sec, Eurostar and LCR and recent pitch wins for Barratt, First Base, Linden Homes, Ballymore Properties, City Lofts, Bowden Wilson and Land Sec/Trillium.
Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a Fellow of the Academy of Urbanism.
