Julia Alvarez is a curator & gallerist and has been a project manager at Futurecity since June 2007. Julia established BEARSPACE in 2002, a contemporary art gallery in Deptford. BEARSPACE shows the cutting edge of emerging talent, by promoting recently established artists responding to contemporary stimulus and topics with wit and innovation in a range of media.
Julia Alvarez has project managed and curated a variety of project based exhibitions and events including art fairs, public sculpture commissions and large-scale exhibitions. At Futurecity, she is currently project managing the Paynes & Borthwick Wharf ‘Cultural Showcase’ and a major public art commission for artist Layla Curtis on behalf of City of Westminster.
