CLIENT:St James Group Ltd
In a truly groundbreaking commission initiated and curated by Futurecity, artist Clare Woods and acclaimed Architects practice MAKE led by Ken Shuttleworth have collaborated on the façade treatment for two of the residential buildings in Grosvenor Waterside.
Clare Woods, whose paintings deal with 'nature reclaiming urban spaces' has created an image based upon the trees and historical architecture on the site that has been etched into the aluminium surface of the two buildings, literally 'wrapping' around them. Highly visible to the millions of passengers using nearby Victoria Station, the work will be visually stunning, perpetually changing throughout the day as the light is reflected on the metal surface.
The buildings will be completed in Spring 2008.
As part of the project, St James Group Ltd also sponsored Clare Woods' first major solo exhibition at Chisenhale Gallery
