Futurecity have been appointed by property development and investment company, Allied London to develop a cultural strategy for their Spinningfields Business District in Manchester.
The 4.5m sq ft Spinningfields scheme was launched in July 2000 as a new international business district for Manchester. The former brownfield site has been transformed to create a new destination and community– as well as a legal centre, a premium retail thoroughfare, dining destination and modern residential environment.
The development also houses the Rylands Library and the new Peoples History Museum. The Spinningfields cultural strategy will support the enhancement of the social environment, the public realm and help enrich Spinningfields cultural and civic legacies.
