Red Sea Global Art and Culture Strategy

Futurecity has been retained by Red Sea Global to develop the public art and culture strategy, detailed art intervention proposals and delivery frameworks for the luxury resorts on Al Numan Island and coastal Triple Bay North.

Both projects are unique in their orientation towards arts, culture and wellbeing as pivotal elements in creating unique destinations that reflect the culturally rich location and the heritage of the Red Sea area. The site’s location has brought forward a curatorial narrative that draws from the important history of the region as a nexus of the Red Sea trade routes – showcasing the long history of discovery and scientific achievement alongside local cultural practices of wellbeing and transformation.

The resorts, designed by the architect Bjarke Ingels Group, are defined by a series of important cultural assets including museums, performance spaces, galleries, artist village and landmark artworks. Each will contribute to the growing cultural infrastructure in the region. Futurecity’s masterplan creates the cultural thread that links these, through powerful curatorial narratives and a set of extraordinary art experiences in the landscape.

Futurecity have developed the art strategy for both resorts, defined the curatorial directions for the cultural assets, and created the delivery frameworks that will ensure successful delivery over the next decade.
