We’re excited to share The Art of Place - a new publication chronicling the journey behind Station Hill’s transformative public art programme. Commissioned by Lincoln MGT and curated by Futurecity, the book captures the creative process behind three landmark commissions - Seed, Pivotal, and two animated murals - which now shape Reading’s new cultural gateway.
From community workshops and botanical inspiration to bold visions of civic identity, The Art of Place is more than a record of artworks - it’s a portrait of a town in motion. Through behind-the-scenes stories, curatorial reflections, and artist interviews, the book reveals how Station Hill became not just a destination, but a shared canvas for Reading’s past, present, and future.
The Art of Place was commissioned by Lincoln MGT, designed by Siren Design, and edited by Sinéad McCarthy. The commissioning editor was Lee Fearnhead and the copy editor was Bryony Quinn. The book was printed by Gavin Martin and features photography by Adrian Lambert, Andy Stagg and Sean Wallace. It was supported by PR Agency Redwood Consulting.
