Futurecity was appointed by the Barangaroo Delivery Authority (BDA) in mid 2018 to develop a commissioning framework and governance structure for their site-wide public art program, to reflect their 2015 Public Art and Cultural Plan.

This overarching framework was developed in close consultation with the BDA and applicable both to BDA and future developer-led commissions in the delivery of public art projects. It functions to ensure cohesive, integrated and successful commissioning across the different zones of the 22-hectare Barangaroo development.

Futurecity’s addendum to the 2015 Public Art and Cultural Plan outlines a clear set of internal protocols to enable on-going quality control, costing and risk assessment, approvals, stakeholder engagement and communications throughout the commissioning process.
