Futurecity has partnered with the Fleet Street Quarter BID to deliver a pioneering Cultural Strategy. Building on the City of London’s Destination City ambitions, the strategy positions Fleet Street Quarter (FSQ) as a cultural and creative district where history and innovation meet.
FSQ is “a place with a story to tell.” From its roots as the centre of printing and journalism to its role today as a hub for global businesses and creative industries, the Quarter’s identity is defined by transformation. The Cultural Strategy embraces this legacy with a bold vision: Fleet Street Quarter – The Place Where Stories Are Born.
Developed through extensive consultation with over 60 stakeholders, the strategy sets out a practical framework for cultural programming, activation, and investment. It identifies opportunities across FSQ’s streets, courtyards and new developments to host theatre, visual arts, culinary initiatives, festivals and digital innovation, creating experiences that bring the Quarter’s heritage to life while shaping its future.
Crucially, the strategy aligns with FSQ’s four core objectives – to put Fleet Street back on the map, create a clean and green district, connect its business community, and ensure a safe environment. Cultural initiatives will animate public spaces, attract diverse audiences, and increase footfall and dwell time, delivering cultural, social and economic value for members.
By weaving together history, business, and creativity, the FSQ Cultural Strategy redefines this historic district as a thriving, future-focused cultural destination.
