The Lab E20 stands as a transformative initiative by Get Living, designed to position East Village as a hub of creativity, sustainability, and community co-creation. Conceived in partnership with Futurecity as part of the delivery of East Village's Cultural Placemaking Strategy, and designed by Christopher Raeburn, founder of RÆBURN, this 3,500 sq ft double-height space launched in July 2021 to foster collaboration and experimentation.
Situated in Victory Plaza, The Lab E20 embodies RÆBURN’s design ethos of RÆMADE, RÆDUCED, and RÆCYCLED. It served as the demonstrator space for the six-month PREVIEW programme, developed by Futurecity and supported by Get Living. This initiative features workshops, exhibitions, and events focusing on positive fashion, climate action, and the circular economy, in collaboration with partners such as the Institute of Positive Fashion, architectural and sustainable design practice D-Lab; Loanhood, an East London start-up fashion rental platform; The Sustainable Angle, the UK’s leading resource for sourcing sustainable materials, and global activist and maker platform Fashion Open Studio (Fashion Revolution).
Events range from panel discussions to design and repair workshops, welcoming residents, students, and visitors to engage with the principles of sustainable living and innovation. This initiative highlights Get Living’s commitment to purposeful, sustainable living, transforming East Village into a stage for meaningful cultural production and the gateway to London’s burgeoning Innovation District.
