18 June 2026

As part of Futurecity’s 20-year programme celebrating over 300 projects worldwide, we welcomed guests from across the real estate and cultural sectors to join us for the Futurecity Art Tour: Art at the Heart of Place.

Travelling through central London by black cab, the tour brought together 20 guests for a journey across five Futurecity public art commissions in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. Along the way, conversations with artists Clare Twomey, Shezad Dawood, Richard Wilson and Conrad Shawcross explored how public art can shape identity, enrich everyday experience and contribute to the long-term cultural value of place.

The tour reflected Futurecity’s ongoing commitment to embedding culture within the fabric of the city: commissioning ambitious, site-responsive works that connect architecture, history and community.

The tour included visits to:

• Anatomy of Time — Clare Twomey

• Cascade — Shezad Dawood

• Shack Stack — Richard Wilson

• Bramah House — Clare Woods

• Bicameral — Conrad Shawcross

From moments in transit to artist-led discussions beside landmark installations, the experience traced how artworks become part of London’s civic and cultural infrastructure; shaping how people move through, encounter and remember the city.

Over the last two decades, Futurecity has delivered projects across London, the UK and internationally that demonstrate the transformative role of culture in placemaking, creating meaningful public experiences through collaboration with artists, architects, developers and communities.
