130 Fenchurch Street

Futurecity has developed a Cultural Plan for 130 Fenchurch Street, embedding culture, sustainability and community use within a major redevelopment in the City of London’s Eastern Cluster. The plan supports the City’s Destination City vision, creating spaces that extend activity beyond the working day.

Central to the proposals is The Gallery, designed for exhibitions, installations and events that address themes such as ecology, climate and future cities. An adjoining Culture Garden will provide outdoor space for public art and informal gathering, while The Exchange will offer flexible studios and educational space for residencies, partnerships and knowledge-sharing. A public viewing gallery and a ground-floor preview space will ensure visibility and access from the surrounding streets.

Ahead of the new building’s completion, Seed130 has been launched as a temporary gallery in a vacant unit on Fenchurch Street. Curated by Futurecity, it is hosting exhibitions, residencies and community events, testing ideas for the long-term programme and engaging local audiences.
